Open Content Manager in the original Trainz version
-
Find your route you want to upgrade to a newer version of Trainz
-
Export the route to cdp
-
Go back to the Content Manager and right click on the route to show "List
Dependancies Recursively".
-
Sort the list by status to find "Modified". Export these to cdp. If
exportin multiple modified items, keep it under 500MB. Do not export any
"Built-in" or "Payware" items - they need to be downloaded from withing the
new Trainz version.
-
Any "Installed from DLS" can be done from the new Trainz version.
-
If you want to see where "Installed, Payware" comes from, right click and
choose "List dependants". That will show what packages it came from.
-
According to the video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=yJQIrI_wgeY&feature=youtu.be&mc_cid=0751603d6c&mc_eid=b17f3ba020
an Asset Download window should apppear to download paid for content. That
didn't happen for me (but there is a workaround
https://forums.auran.com/threads/trs-2019-asset-downloads.150509/ ). I
think you can do it by clicking on Content Store in the launcher window and
install purchased content there.
-
Go to Content Manager
-
Install the cdp's you exported from the old version of Trainz - click and
hold cdp file in Explorer to Content Manager.
-
Find your route. It will probably be red with Modified, Missing
dependancies. To get the missing DLS content, right click on the route and
select Download. When that's done right click on the route again and
select "List depencies recursivley". Select the unknown assets, right
click and "List Assets in New Window". In the Asset KUID line copy the
kuids. Go back to your old version of Trainz content manager and paste the
kuids into search box on upper RHS with Filter on "installed". This will
show what the assets are. Click on a line and right click and select "List
Dependants" to see what routes or packages those assets came from. Go back
to the new version of Trainz and download the packages / routes for those
unknown kuids. If the assset is not in a route, it may be in a package such
as "Additonal TANE Assets for TRS19 for example.
-
When all dependancies have ben satisfied, your route should show up as
black in Content Manager.
